History Tour
Bucolic Burgundy, at one time more powerful than the kingdom of France, is particularly rich with medieval history, art and architecture. We enjoy imparting its treasures in the most illuminating and entertaining way we can.
Among the outstanding monuments are the 15th century Hotel Dieu of Beaune, the monumental Tombs of the Dukes placed in own palace in Dijon, today one of France’s grandest Fine Arts Museums…For fans of the Middle Ages, Burgundy boasts a trove of sites to explore*, from ancient walled fortresses and cities to World Heritage site abbeys… dating as far back as the 12th century.
Only a 1h30 min train ride from Paris or Lyon to Dijon, Burgundy is a marvellous destination for even a day trip.
*Among the many sites in the region to explore: Dijon, Beaune, Semur-en-Auxois, Vezelay, Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Fontenay Abbey, Rully, La Rochepot, Tournus, Cluny….
Gourmet Tour
Decidedly we are living an exceptional foody age with artisans of excellence anxious to share their creations. Gourmet remains a catchword.
Tours can include farmers markets, cooking lessons and tastings of all sorts. Learn about: making while tasting fine chocolates; why Dijon mustards; truffles of Burgundy; baguettes and other breads…
It is not for nothing that in 2010, Dijon was named Ville Gastronomique, one of the Gourmet capitals of France, or that the French lunch is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list as « immaterial patrimony ».
